The spooky season has returned, or maybe it never left for you? You must cover three things for Halloween: A scary house, good 3D printed Halloween costumes, and plenty of candy!

Once again, it’s that time of year when we dress up, be spooky, and stuff ourselves with more candy than we can handle. Halloween is about carving pumpkins, going trick-or-treating, seeing ghosts, frightening people, haunted houses, and planning parties.

And 3D printing, a great way to create props, costumes, pumpkins, and much more, is also a great idea. We’ve compiled the following 3D printing projects for masks, props, and accessories to assist you with the first item so you can create a stunning costume!

Let’s jump to the list, though—Spooktober has already begun!

Even though the primary goal of trick-or-treating is candy, the act of tricking people is still enjoyable. Most of the time, you just want to be able to scare people well and then laugh about it. Of course, there are times when you want to dress up in a cute or humorous costume. Here are five patterns to help you pull off that spooky look!

Smiley Horror Mask

This mask is as terrifying as its name suggests. The mask is based on the 2012 movie Smiley, but even if you haven’t seen it, it’s frightening and generic enough to be used on Halloween.

The mask has holes on the sides where a string can be inserted to make it easier to wear. The eyes and smile are textured to make them appear as though they were sewn together to heighten the unsettling effect.

Iron Man is one of the most well-known Marvel superheroes and superheroes in general. The design for his arc reactor is one of many made in the 3D printing community to recreate his suits. Chestburster

(Source: Ockhama via Thingiverse)

Even if you’re not a fan of the movies, this Chestburster from the 1979 sci-fi film Alien would look horrifying, protruding from your chest. To make it easier to hold onto your chest, a different model’s design was remixed to create this one. The method of attachment is straightforward: You simply tie the Chestburster to your torso with a belt or, in the author’s case, a go-pro grip, rip a hole in your shirt, and then make it appear as bloody as you can.

  • Designer: Ekdahl
  • How widely is it printed? The model has 15 Makes, requires no supports, and can be printed with low infill, though it is advised to print it at a high resolution to get all the details.

(Source: danielrojas via MyMiniFactory)

This design must be printed in eight separate pieces and then assembled by glue, though it may require some post-processing to conceal the seams.

  • Designer: Nickey’s Hatchery
  • How widely is it printed? There are 4 community prints and 4,062 downloads of the demonic goat. Low layer height and minimal infill are advised to avoid excessive supports and long print times.
